Small Joy. February 19, 2021

It is nice to be loved, even if it is only for food! I almost gave up posting my Small Joys on the blog as I got very behind... 10 days behind. It would have been easy to just say oh well, I am way too behind and it will take eons to catch up so just don't bother posting the images. But, I stopped myself and started posting all the pictures I took today! Who said the word police would stop by and flunk me. Really... I gave myself permission not to write a missive on each picture. Ahhh.. relief.

Small joys can be coming across an old photo of an old friend that passed away suddenly. She was an amazing woman and someone who saved my life when I needed a friend the most. After my divorce I badly needed respite of some kind and Susan offered it to me and my two children. She was a generous individual and off we went to Spain for a month, to get away and think and try to make a plan to rebuild my life as a single parent of two adopted kids. Savor each moment. She will be missed.

Dogs provide endless hours of enjoyment. After working on my writing I came in to get a much deserved bit of lunch only to find that Liam must have had a rough day on the job. I did not pose this picture, it is a sign of the times that a dog is resting beside a mask. Maybe this is the next step in Covid 19 protection. It made me chuckle and he was no worse for the wear.
