I have always loved the winter skies. I think they are the most striking, especially just before dawn. There is nothing like being outside on a crisp winter evening with the wind and biting cold. I know that most people do not share my love of winter, but it is highly underrated. This image is one I captured just at dusk while out walking my dog. It looks like rosy fingers in the sky even at night.

Small joys can be coming across an old photo of an old friend that passed away suddenly. She was an amazing woman and someone who saved my life when I needed a friend the most. After my divorce I badly needed respite of some kind and Susan offered it to me and my two children. She was a generous individual and off we went to Spain for a month, to get away and think and try to make a plan to rebuild my life as a single parent of two adopted kids. Savor each moment. She will be missed.

Dogs provide endless hours of enjoyment. After working on my writing I came in to get a much deserved bit of lunch only to find that Liam must have had a rough day on the job. I did not pose this picture, it is a sign of the times that a dog is resting beside a mask. Maybe this is the next step in Covid 19 protection. It made me chuckle and he was no worse for the wear.
