I take a five mile walk everyday, but I have to admit not when it rains. My skills as a photographer leave a lot to be desired but that does not stop me from finding beauty in the starkness of nature. I looked up and the way in which the tree looked so bare caught my eye. I am not sure you can see the cardinal hanging out on one of the branches on the right.

Small joys can be coming across an old photo of an old friend that passed away suddenly. She was an amazing woman and someone who saved my life when I needed a friend the most. After my divorce I badly needed respite of some kind and Susan offered it to me and my two children. She was a generous individual and off we went to Spain for a month, to get away and think and try to make a plan to rebuild my life as a single parent of two adopted kids. Savor each moment. She will be missed.

Dogs provide endless hours of enjoyment. After working on my writing I came in to get a much deserved bit of lunch only to find that Liam must have had a rough day on the job. I did not pose this picture, it is a sign of the times that a dog is resting beside a mask. Maybe this is the next step in Covid 19 protection. It made me chuckle and he was no worse for the wear.
