Small Joy January 11. 2021

My dog Ford ( I did not choose his name) is my Super Hero.  He possesses many super powers one of which is laying like a frog dog.  He has relaxed  with his 4 legs outstretched ever since he was a pup and it has always made me smile.  Emma, my niece,  took a picture of him and then used some program to turn him into a super hero.  His other super powers include: constant talking which my family calls whining and being an amazing companion.  That is the thing about animals isn't it ...they love you unconditionally, even if we were an axe murderer you would still be there favorite person.   You gotta love that!

Here is the original image that Emma worked from to create the super hero rendition of Ford. If you look closely on the right hand side of the picture, you can see the remnants of the candy cane rope from one of my earlier posts.

Small joys can be coming across an old photo of an old friend that passed away suddenly. She was an amazing woman and someone who saved my life when I needed a friend the most.  After my divorce I badly needed respite of some kind and Susan offered it to me and my two children. She was a generous individual and off we went to Spain for a month, to get away and think and try to make a plan to rebuild my life as a single parent of two adopted kids. Savor each moment.   She will be missed.

Dogs provide endless hours of enjoyment.  After working on my writing I came in to get a much deserved bit of lunch only to find that Liam must have had a rough day on the job.  I did not pose this picture, it is a sign of the times that a dog is resting beside a mask.  Maybe this is the next step in Covid 19 protection.  It made me chuckle and he was no worse for the wear.
